Meet Coach Black, 11U Trojans Coach

Why did you want to become a coach?

I love the game of football and wanted to become a coach, because of my youth coaches had played a big part in my life growing up and I wanted to give back and make an impact the way my youth coaches did for me in my youth.

Tell me about yourself.

I was born and raised in California. Played football for over 16 years and have been a coach for almost 20 years from the youth level (Pop Warner), High school ( Varsity WR/DB position and  JV defensive coordinator) I have also helped and assisted a the Junior College level as a WRs coach. I enjoy giving back to the youth my time and knowledge.

How would you describe your style of coaching?

I am intense, fiery, passionate and love to teach every aspect of the game.

As a coach, what is your top priority?

My top priority as a coach is to help build these young boys into young men and also teach them that being a part of a football team that's about brotherhood. Help teach them values and life lessons that go hand in hand with football and life.

Can you describe what a typical practice looks like for your teams?

Typical day at practice would be organized, intense and it would be about getting better at all levels of the game.

What is your favorite NFL and college team?

LA Rams and Notre Dame
